Texas Online Notary

Notarized by video, without leaving home.

Sign from your kitchen table, your office or another state. I’m commissioned by Texas to notarize online, so we meet on a live video call, I verify your identity, and I email your notarized document back to you as a sealed PDF.

How a session works

Four steps, all from one device.

For most documents, you don’t need to print, scan or mail anything.

  1. Send me your document

Tell me what you’re signing and who’s signing it. I’ll confirm the price and email you a secure link, where you upload the document as a PDF.

  2. Verify your identity

You take a picture of your ID so the system can check that it’s genuine. Then you answer five multiple-choice questions about your own history, like past addresses, drawn from public and private records. You need four right within two minutes.

  3. Meet me on video

We join a live video call. I compare you to your ID, make sure you understand what you’re signing and are signing willingly, and watch you sign electronically.

  4. Get your document back

I apply my electronic seal and digital certificate, then email you the finished PDF. I can also send it straight to your lender, title company or attorney.

What it costs

$25online session fee

plus the notary fee for each act

Example: one document with one signature that needs an acknowledgment is $25 + $10 = $35. No travel fee, ever.

Priced by Texas law.

Texas lets an online notary charge up to $25 for the online session, on top of the regular fee for the notarial act. For most documents, that fee is $10 for the first signature and $1 for each additional signature on an acknowledgment, or $10 for an oath.

You’ll get the exact total before we start, and it’s listed on your receipt.

Good to know

Online notarization questions.

Can I sign from another state or country?

Yes. Texas law lets you be anywhere when you sign online, as long as I’m in Texas when I notarize. That makes online sessions handy for Texans who are traveling, living abroad, or serving in the military.

Is an online notarization legal?

Yes. It’s authorized under Texas law, and I hold a Texas online notary commission. The certificate on your document notes that it was notarized online, as the law requires.

Is the session recorded?

Yes. Texas requires online notaries to record the video session and keep it, along with an electronic record of the notarization, for at least five years. The recording is stored securely and used only as the official record.

What if I don’t pass the ID questions?

You get one retake within 24 hours, with mostly new questions. The questions come from U.S. records, so people without a U.S. credit or address history sometimes can’t complete them. If that might be you, tell me first and I’ll help you decide between online and an in-person visit.

Can every document be notarized online?

Many can, but not all. Some documents need witnesses, and some offices that receive documents have their own rules. Tell me what you’re signing and where it’s going, and I’ll tell you whether online will work or whether an in-person visit is the better choice.

What do I get back, and can I print it?

You get the notarized document as a PDF by email. My electronic seal and certificate are built into the file, so any change made after signing shows up. Keep and forward that original file rather than a scan or screenshot. You can print it if you need paper, but some offices, such as county clerks recording property documents, have their own rules for printed copies, so check with them first.

What if the office needs a paper original with ink signatures?

We can still meet by video. On the call, you sign the paper document and a short declaration that it’s the same document I notarized, and I record you signing both. You mail the originals to me within three days. When they arrive, I complete the certificate on the paper, apply my seal, and mail it back to you or straight to whoever needs it.

Can two signers join from different places?

Often, yes. Each person completes their own ID check. Let me know when you book, so I can set up the session for everyone.
